When should I get an ultrasound?

An ultrasound can tell you about the gestational age of the fetus and provide other crucial information about the health of the pregnancy. Any client who receives a free positive pregnancy test from Boston Center for Pregnancy Choices is eligible for a free ultrasound referral at one of our partner locations as long as all criteria are met.

How do I know if I am pregnant?

There are many symptoms that could indicate that you are pregnant, with the most common being a missed period. At Boston Center for Pregnancy Choices, we offer free pregnancy tests and subsequent ultrasound referrals for all clients.

What are the signs of an STD?

While the specific symptoms for every sexually transmitted disease differ depending on the disease, there are certain signs that may indicate that you need to see a doctor. Symptoms include vaginal discharge, vaginal itching or irritation, burning or pain while urinating, and pain during intercourse. While these are certainly not an exhaustive list of symptoms, it is a good starting point for any woman concerned that she may have contracted an STD.

What if I do not know how I want to handle my pregnancy yet?

Many women enter our doors unsure of what they want to do next, whether it is deciding to become a parent, seeking an adoption, or pursuing an abortion. No matter which of those categories, or potential others, you may find yourself in, the staff and volunteers at Boston Center for Pregnancy Choices are here to provide you with the resources you need to make an informed decision.

How much does my appointment cost?

All appointments at Boston Center for Pregnancy Choices are free. It is our goal to provide you with the best, most informative resources available.

Will anyone find out about my appointment?

We recognize that confidentiality is of the utmost importance to our clients, and we do whatever we can to respect and honor those wishes. Confidentiality is kept unless there are safety concerns for the client or suspicion of abuse of a minor.

Can I bring someone with me to my appointment?

We encourage any client who would like to have someone supportive of them to bring that person in for their appointment. Whether it is the client’s significant other, friend, or family member, we welcome any additional visitors. If you do come in with your partner, it is important to be aware that Boston Center for Pregnancy Choices also offers numerous resources for couples experiencing an unplanned pregnancy.
